What do you like about RASKC volunteering?

I get to see a bunch of animals and make sure that their hopefully short stays at the shelter are as comfortable as possible.  It feels good to work with other volunteers on a team getting to see the impact a crew can have by working together. It’s a real onus having this “good boy”- our 20 year-old senior foster cat- as a housemate.

What is something that you learned during RASKC volunteering?

I learned the skills required to assist the RASKC staff and what services RASKC offers to adopters. They’ll hook you up with coupons for pet food, microchip, return service if they find your lost pet, lots of information, spay/neuter, up to date shots.  It’s a long list.

Given the COVID quarantine, what is something that is helping you get through these unprecedented times?

I play video games (League of Legends, Valorant, Paladins) with friends. I go for walks sometimes to remind myself that the world is larger than my house.  I snuggle my “good boy” and play with my “good girl” (a seven week-old foster kitten), because she won’t snuggle me. They make me happy.
