Pet of the Week: Yolk
Today’s Pet of the Week is living life sunny side up – meet Yolk!
This grey and white tabby was brought in by a good Samaritan in mid-October. The staff and volunteers at the Pet Adoption Center adore Yolk. You might be asking yourself: how did she get such a unique name? Well, as you can see in her photo, Yolk likes to lay on her back. She sort of looks like a cracked egg when she does it, so… Yolk!
Yolk is a larger lady, so she would benefit from some weight loss. Your veterinarian will have tips on how she can shed that “little bit extra.” She is a sweet kitty, but can get overstimulated at times and prefers to get affection on her own terms. Because of this, she’s one of our Rambunctious Red personality pets. Yolk would do best with a cat-savvy family without young children, and with people who know when to give her space.
Want to get crackin’ on Yolk’s adoption? She is spayed, current on vaccinations and flea preventative, and microchipped. Her adoption comes with many benefits, including 30 days of opt-in pet insurance through Trupanion. And since she’s our Pet of the Week, Yolk’s adoption fee is reduced, though a pet license fee may still apply. Learn about all the benefits of having a licensed pet at kingcounty.gov/LicenseMyPet.
