Pet of the Week: Raikou

This “Legendary Beast” is Raikou, our Pet of the Week!

This one-year-old boy was brought in to the Pet Adoption Center in mid February by a good Samaritan who noticed that he had an injury on his leg. Raikou is healed up now, and wants to find a home to call his own.

Raikou enjoys getting love and attention, but can get overstimulated at times. His new family will need to look for signs that he might need a break. Like his namesake, Raikou has a growl like thunder – but he’s not a mean cat, it’s just his way of communicating! Raikou also has an independent streak and likes to do his own thing, so he’s one of our Rambunctious Red personality pets.

Could Raikou be the spark of lightning you’re looking for? He is neutered, current on vaccinations, and microchipped. His adoption comes with many benefits, including 30 days of opt-in pet health insurance through Trupanion. Because he’s our Pet of the Week, Raikou’s adoption fee has been reduced, though a pet license fee may still apply. Learn about all the benefits that come with a pet license at kingcounty.gov/LicenseMyPet.

Raikou and all his friends are waiting to greet you at the Pet Adoption Center. Stop by today! We’re open for walk-in adoptions from noon to 5 p.m. weekdays, and noon to 4 p.m. on weekends. You can find all the pets waiting to be adopted at kingcounty.gov/AdoptAPet. If you have questions, contact RASKC at 206-296-7387 (PETS) or email pets@kingcounty.gov.
