Pet of the Week: Freckles
We’ve “spotted” our Pet of the Week: meet Freckles!
This senior pointer mix was brought in by his previous owner in October because they could no longer care for him. Freckles had been adopted from another shelter, and no one is sure what his life was like before that.
Freckles is a sweet boy who loves to snuggle and go for walks. He can be a bit dog selective, so he will need to go home with someone that can help him play appropriately with other dogs.
When Freckles arrived at the Pet Adoption Center, he had a torn cruciate ligament in his back left leg. He had surgery to repair it, and is healing pretty well, though he is still in recovery. Soon though, Freckles will be back to his old self and ready to romp around and play like a puppy again! For now, Freckles will need to go on short walks to make sure he heals properly.
Even though he just had surgery, Freckles can still jump over fences, so he needs a home that will provide enrichment and lots of walks on leash to keep his mind and body busy. Since he’s still so active even at ten years old, Freckles is one of our “Rambunctious Red” pets. Freckles is full of energy and loves to play. He is also still working on his manners, so Freckles would do best with a family who is willing to work with him to become the best dog he can be.
Ready to welcome Freckles into your heart and home? He is neutered, current on vaccinations, and microchipped. His adoption comes with a free visit to the veterinarian of your choice and 30 days of opt-in pet insurance through Trupanion. Since Freckles is our Pet of the Week, his adoption fee has been reduced. However, a pet license fee may still apply.
