Pet of the Week: Atheena

We’d like to introduce you to Atheena, our Pet of the Week!

This young Australian Cattle Dog mix is still searching for her fur-ever home. She had been adopted once, but recently came back into our care.

Atheena is a very shy girl and unsure of new people, so she is one of our Bashful Blue personality pets. However, caregivers have noted that once she gets to know you, she blossoms into her true self. Once Atheena gets to know you, she will be a very devoted friend!

Atheena is also very independent, full of energy, and loves to play! She does best when she has lots of exercise and something to keep her mind busy. Caregivers have observed that Atheena might not get along with children or other dogs, so she would do best in a home where she is the center of attention.

Because she is shy, Atheena will need a home where someone is always available for her in the early days after adoption. It’s important to be consistent and socialize her so she can be the best companion she can be. Atheena will need patience, as everything is new for her, and will need lots of love and care while she learns.

Can you give Atheena the loving, permanent home she needs? She is spayed, current on vaccinations, and microchipped. Her adoption comes with a free visit to the veterinarian of your choice and 30 days of opt-in pet insurance through Trupanion. Since she is our Pet of the Week, Atheena’s adoption fee is reduced, though a pet license fee may still apply. Learn about all the benefits of having a licensed pet at kingcounty.gov/LicenseMyPet.
