Pet of the Week: Joe

Hello, Joe! You’re our Pet of the Week!

This sweet boy was brought in by a good Samaritan in November, and he would love to have a new home to call his own in the New Year.

Joe likes to get attention on his own terms, so he is one of our “Bashful Blue” personality pets. He can get overstimulated with petting, so his people should keep an eye out for signs that he needs a break. Because of his shy nature, Joe would do best in a calm, quiet home. He does enjoy the company of other cats, as long as they are not spending too much time in his personal bubble.

Joe has a condition called Feline Immunodeficiency Virus or FIV. This infection is transmitted between cats in close contact, and there is no cure. FIV-positive cats can live many years in good health with proper veterinary care. Also, Joe recently had a good dental cleaning at the Pet Adoption Center. The vet says Joe is missing some teeth, and will likely need more dental care in the future. The staff at the Pet Adoption Center will be happy to discuss Joe’s health care needs when you come to visit.

Can you give Joe the warm, loving home he deserves? He is neutered, current on vaccinations, and microchipped. His adoption comes with a free visit to the veterinarian of your choice and 30 days of opt-in pet insurance through Trupanion. Since Joe is our Pet of the Week, his adoption fee has been reduced. However, a pet license fee may still apply. Learn about all the great benefits of licensing your pet at kingcounty.gov/LicenseMyPet.
