Finn came to RASKC as a puppy. He tested positive for parvovirus, which can be fatal. Because of generous donations to the RASKC Angel Fund, we were able to pay for treatment to save this dog’s life.
Frankie came to RASKC as a result of an animal cruelty investigation. An animal control officer brought Frankie to our vet clinic after he was allegedly kicked in the head. Due to the extensive injuries, Frankie’s jaw was broken and he lost his vision.
Jericho came to the Pet Adoption Center as a stray. He was about three months old and had a severe case of mange.
Mange is caused by a skin mite called Demodex, and is very itchy and painful. It also causes animals to lose their fur. Animals usually contract mange when their immune systems are compromised.
Plum came into the Pet Adoption Center as a four-week-old kitten. She was placed in foster care, and her foster parent noticed she was limping.
Vets discovered Plum had luxating patella, a condition where the kneecap moves out of its normal position. Using donated funds, RASKC paid for orthopedic surgery for Plum, at a cost of more than $800.
Sarge was found abandoned and starving in an apartment. He had an abdominal hernia, and injuries to a rear leg and his eyelid.
Our vet staff were able to surgically repair Sarge’s hernia and injured eyelid. Using donations to the Angel Fund, RASKC sent Sarge to a specialist vet clinic for his leg injury.

Amy has donated over 10,000 hours during the past five years working on various projects — from the cat meet & greet to helping out with the new volunteer orientation program, and organizing RASKC’s Annual Springtime Foster Dinner Celebration. Aside from Amy’s genuine dedication, she is caring volunteer who is always willing to jump in and help wherever needed.
