Work moving forward at new RASKC facility
Renovations to the new Regional Animal Services of King County (RASKC) shelter location in Kent continue to move ahead on schedule.

On April 2, members of the RASKC team met on-site with the county’s Facilities Management Division (FMD) and the design team to look at draft floorplans and get an idea of what the flow through the building will look like. They were joined by Winnie, a RASKC alumnus dog, who has become the project’s unofficial mascot.
For the last two weeks, the project design team has been hosting meetings with shelter personnel and sustainability experts to confirm details related to the new facility’s final design. These meetings are the first of many that will help FMD and RASKC confirm a final shelter design by mid-summer.
The new King County Pet Adoption Center is expected to open in the first half of 2027.
