Pet of the Week: Kohaku

We’d like to introduce you to Kohaku, our Pet of the Week!

This young male pittie was brought in by an animal control officer in early January. At about 57 pounds, Kohaku is considered a medium breed dog.

Kohaku is FULL of energy and loves to play! He is also very smart, and has been practicing his commands like sit, stay, come, down, and shake. Because he’s so active, he’s one of our Rambunctious Red personality pets. Kohaku does best when he gets lots of exercise and activities to keep his mind busy.

Since he’s still fairly young, Kohaku will need a home where someone is available most of the time. It’s important to be consistent with training and socialization so that he can become the best companion he can be. Kohaku is very affectionate, and likes to cuddle up with his people. He can be a bit shy though, so he would do best in a calm, quiet home with adults, or perhaps with teenage children.

Are you ready to adopt this spirited boy with a fun-loving personality? Kohaku is neutered, current on vaccinations, and microchipped. His adoption comes with many benefits, including 30 days of opt-in pet health insurance through Trupanion, and a lifetime discount on online training from GoodPup. And if you hurry in through February 29, you can decide what you’d like to pay for Kohaku’s adoption fee – it could even be free during our “Name Your Price” promotion! (Note that a pet license fee may still apply.) Learn about all the benefits that come with a pet license at kingcounty.gov/LicenseMyPet.
