Pet of the Week: Zek
How can you resist those gorgeous eyes? This is Zek, our Pet of the Week!
This one-year-old came to the Pet Adoption Center in early February along with a couple of his siblings. At 50 pounds, Zek is considered a medium breed dog.
Zek and his siblings had been living outside for some time and didn’t get much contact with people. Since being at RASKC, he has been learning a lot. He still needs some help getting comfortable with handling and meeting new people. Zek is an independent dog who likes to do his own thing, so he’s one of our “Rambunctious Red” personality pets. He seems to do well with other dogs his size, with an energetic and rowdy play style. When meeting dogs in his new home, Zek would do best with a slow introduction.
Zek is a gentle and loving dog who likes to take things slow. He can get nervous in new situations, so he is looking for a family who understands that he might take some time to warm up. Once he gets to know you, he will be a very playful friend! Because of Zek’s shy nature, he would do best in a calm, quiet home without children. It will also be important to be consistent with Zek and socialize him so he can have the best companionship with people and other animals. Everything is brand new, so he will need some TLC while he learns. Zek is not potty trained or crate trained yet, and teaching him those skills will help tremendously on the road to success.
If you are ready to fall in love with this awesome boy, please come meet him soon! Zek is up to date on vaccinations, neutered, and microchipped. His adoption comes with many benefits, including 30 days of opt-in pet insurance through Trupanion. Since he is our Pet of the Week, Zek’s adoption fee has been reduced, but a license fee may still apply. Check out kingcounty.gov/LicenseMyPet to learn all about the benefits of a pet license.
