Pet of the Week: Caesar
Hail Caesar, our Pet of the Week!
This six-year-old Anatolian Shepherd came into our care in early March after his owner sadly passed away. When he arrived at the Pet Adoption Center, Caesar was very thin and underweight. At 95 pounds, he’s considered a large breed dog, but his ideal weight is closer to 105 pounds – so he’s almost there!
Caesar has some interest in toys and treats, but really he just wants to lean on you and be petted to his heart’s content. While Caesar loves people, he can be independent if needed. He’s also pretty mellow and walks well on a leash, so he’s one of our “Bashful Blue” personality pets. Due to his shy nature, Caesar would thrive in a home without younger children. Also, fast movements and loud noises make him nervous.
Caesar is a gentle and loving dog who likes to take things slow. Since he can get nervous in new situations, he would do best with a family that understands he may take some time to warm up. Once Caesar gets to know you, he will be a very devoted friend – especially if you give him unlimited petting!
Anatolian Shepherd dogs are a rugged, imposing flock guardian of ancient lineage. You can find out more about his breed at AKC.org.
Caesar is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations. His adoption comes with many benefits, including 30 days of opt-in pet insurance through Trupanion. Since Caesar is our Pet of the Week, his adoption fee has been reduced, though a pet license fee may still apply. Visit kingcounty.gov/LicenseMyPet to learn about all the benefits that come with a pet license.
