Pet of the Week: Basil

Add some flavor to your life with Basil, our Pet of the Week!

This young girl was brought in by a good Samaritan way back in June. She was found tied to a pole in a park with all her belongings. When she arrived at the Pet Adoption Center, Basil was very shut down and afraid, but after some time she learned that people aren’t bad, and her true colors are shining through!

Basil was adopted once, but sadly had to come back to RASKC because the apartment building she was living in no longer allowed her breed, an American Staffordshire mix. Basil has a Rambunctious Red personality, meaning that she’s an energetic, spirited dog who loves to have lots of fun. She is still working on her manners, so she would do best with a family that is willing to work with her to become the best dog she can be.

Basil seems to do well with other dogs. She is full of energy though, so a slow introduction to new playmates would be best. Basil loves to fetch and play with her toys – she will even “sit” for them. Because of her high energy level, Basil would do best in a home with older children.

Can you provide a forever home for Basil? She is spayed, current on vaccinations, and microchipped. Her adoption comes with many benefits, including 30 days of opt-in pet insurance through Trupanion. Since Basil is our Pet of the Week, her adoption fee is reduced, though a pet license fee may still apply. Learn about all the benefits that come with a pet license at kingcounty.gov/LicenseMyPet.
