Pet of the Week: Polly
Polly doesn’t want a cracker – she just wants a forever home to call her own.
Our Pet of the Week was brought in by an animal control officer in late September. Polly has a Bashful Blue personality, meaning she is a gentle and loving cat who likes to take things slow. She may get nervous in new situations, so Polly is looking for a family who understands that she might need some time to warm up. Once she gets to know you, Polly will be a very devoted friend!
Polly is also an independent kitty, and likes getting attention on her own terms. Her new family will need to watch for signs that she’s getting overstimulated and give her some space. Polly also has a faint heart murmur (grade 2/6) that will require regular monitoring by your veterinarian. She also has some dental disease and an overactive thyroid gland which is easily managed with daily medication, radioactive iodine treatment, or a prescription diet. Please follow up with your regular veterinarian regarding these issues as Polly will require additional care after adoption.
Like all cats adopted from RASKC, Polly is spayed, current on vaccinations, and microchipped. Her adoption comes with many benefits, including 30 days of opt-in pet insurance through Trupanion. And since she is our Pet of the Week, Polly’s adoption fee is reduced! Note that a pet license fee may still apply. Learn all about the benefits of pet licensing at kingcounty.gov/LicenseMyPet.
