Pet of the Week: Epazote

This dog may fit you to a “T” – meet Epazote, our Pet of the Week!

This three-year-old Doberman Pinscher mix came to us in early June thanks to a good Samaritan. Epazote (pronounced “eh-pah-ZOH-tay”) is full of energy and loves to play! That makes him one of our Rambunctious Red personality pets.

Epazote is a very smart dog, and has been practicing how to sit and shake. He is still working on his manners, so he would do best with a family who is willing to work with him and help him become the best dog he can be. Being so young and full of energy, Epazote does best when he has lots of exercise and something to keep his mind busy. Caregivers have observed that Epazote might not get along with other dogs. So, he may do best as the only dog in his new home, or he may need a very slow introduction to other dogs. Epazote would prefer a home with older children.

Ready to welcome Epazote into your home? He is neutered, current on vaccinations, and microchipped. His adoption comes with many benefits, including 30 days of opt-in pet insurance through Trupanion. And since he is our Pet of the Week, Epazote’s adoption fee is reduced, though a pet license fee may still apply. Learn all about the benefits of pet licensing at kingcounty.gov/LicenseMyPet.

Our Pet Adoption Center in Kent is open to walk-in adoption visitors weekdays from noon to 5 p.m., and weekends noon to 4 p.m. Visit our website at kingcounty.gov/AdoptAPet to see all of our adoptable pets, and learn more about our adoption processes.
