Pet of the Week: Johny

Say hello to our Pet of the Week – here’s Johny!

This senior boy was brought in by a good Samaritan in early April. Johny is a gentle and loving cat who likes to take things slow, so he’s one of our Bashful Blue personality pets. He may get nervous in new situations, so he is looking for a family who understands that he might need some time to warm up.  Once he gets to know you, Johny will be a very devoted friend! Johny may also be sensitive to handling, so he would do best in a home with a cat-savvy family who knows when to give him some space.

Johny also likes getting attention on his own terms and can get overstimulated with petting, so his new family will need to keep an eye out for signs that he might need a break.

Can you give Johny the loving home he deserves? He is neutered, litter box trained, current on vaccinations, and microchipped. His adoption comes with a free visit to the veterinarian of your choice, and 30 days of opt-in pet insurance through Trupanion. Since Johny is our Pet of the Week, his adoption fee has been reduced, but a pet license fee may apply. Visit our website at kingcounty.gov/LicenseMyPet to learn all about the benefits of pet licensing.

RASKC is back open to walk-in adoptions! Our Pet Adoption Center is located at 21615 64th Ave. S. in Kent. Adoption hours are noon to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, and noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Once you have picked a pet, expect to spend about 30 minutes completing paperwork and having your pet care questions answered. Visit our website at kingcounty.gov/AdoptAPet to learn more about our adoption processes, and to see all the animals looking for a new home. If you have questions, reach out to us at pets@kingcounty.gov or call 206-296-7387 (PETS).
