Pet of the Week: Maya

Who can resist that happy face? Say hello to Maya, our Pet of the Week!

This Mastiff/Dogue de Bordeaux mix is currently the Pet Adoption Center’s longest dog resident. Maya’s previous owners brought her to us last November because they could no longer care for her due to medical issues they had.

Maya is super friendly and very loving… and very strong and active! Maya is very sweet and affectionate with caretakers at the shelter. She is also a very smart girl who knows sit, stay, come, down, and shake.

As a spirited dog with an independent streak, Maya is one of our “Rambunctious Red” personality pets. She is still working on her manners, so Maya would do best in a home with adults willing to work with her to help her become the best dog she can be. Maya is full of energy and loves to play, and tends to stay calmer when the people around her stay calm. She does best when she gets lots of exercise and something to keep her mind busy. Also, caregivers have noticed that Maya does not get along with other dogs and would need to be the only pet in her new home.

Ready to meet this big beautiful girl? She is spayed, current on vaccinations, and microchipped. Maya’s adoption comes with a free visit to the veterinarian of your choice and 30 days of opt-in pet insurance through Trupanion.  Since she is our Pet of the Week, Maya’s adoption fee has been reduced, though a pet license fee may still apply.

Find out more about Maya and her other friends at kingcounty.gov/AdoptAPet. Adoptions continue by appointment only, so make your reservation on the website. If you have more questions, you can contact RASKC at 206-296-7387 (PETS) or email pets@kingcounty.gov.
