Graduating from:  Lake Washington High School (Kirkland)

RASKC Team: Cat-Care Team at Kirkland Petco

Hoping this will continue post-pandemic: “I hope that people continue to be extra-aware about their own health and the practices they take to avoid getting themselves and others sick, like washing hands regularly and wearing masks when sick.”

Most proud of in the last year or two: Surviving ten Advanced Placement classes throughout three years.”

Looking forward to: “Just having free time over my summer break and preparing for college.”

What’s next: “College! I am planning to attend Gettysburg College in Gettysburg, PA.”

Most memorable volunteering experience: “When I first walked into [RASKC’s eastside adoption center] and while I was a little uncomfortable, everybody working and volunteering there so was nice. I felt like they were all very welcoming and genuinely happy that I was volunteering.”

Advice to new RASKC volunteers: “I would advise just to be very patient with the animals. It’s hard for them to warm up sometimes, so just take it slow.”

Will you volunteer after graduation? “I will most likely be volunteering for at least the next four years all throughout college, just to feel like I am having a positive impact on the world.”

Fun fact: “I have a cat named Dexter! He was a stray that my family picked up from around our neighborhood. He loves to sleep, of course, and have his belly rubbed.”
