Graduating from: Western Governors University (Salt Lake City, UT) with a master’s degree in learning and technology

RASKC Team: Fostering and Cat Meet & Greet

How your graduation experience will be unique due to the pandemic: “It’s all virtual.”

Hoping this will continue post-pandemic: “Spending extra time at home with the dogs.”

Most proud of in the last year or two: “My ability to adapt to a new teaching position while teaching remote physical education (PE) from my bedroom. And the City of Covington had honored me with a  Citizen of the Year Award.”

Looking forward to: “Relaxing poolside with a good book.”

What’s next: “I’ll continue to teach PE for the next year then potentially look at moving back into the classroom.”

Most memorable volunteering experience: “Our first round of fosters were bottle babies. They spent the first five weeks of their life in my kindergarten classroom teaching my students about growth and development.”

Advice to new RASKC volunteers: “Listen to the veterans and don’t be afraid to ask questions. If you are fostering, don’t go into it with the mindset that you will keep one; otherwise, you will want to keep them all.”

Will you volunteer after graduation? “The plan is to continue to volunteer. I enjoy serving the community.”

Fun fact: All our animals are named after money.”
