Pet of the Week: Athena

A smile as wide as the sky – this is Athena, our Pet of the Week!

This sweet girl was brought in by her previous owner as their landlord wouldn’t allow them to have her due to her breed. Athena is super sweet and affectionate, and very much people social!

She has never really been exposed to other animals, so Athena would prefer to be your only pet. When she was younger, she was attacked by two dogs and this has caused her to be uncomfortable and react toward other dogs. Athena could use some help with this so she can become confident and brave around other dogs. The staff at RASKC recommends asking a professional trainer for help.

Athena has a “Rambunctious Red” personality, meaning she is a spirited dog with a fun-loving personality. She is still working on her manners and would do best with a family who is willing to work with her to become the best dog she can be! If you’re looking for an affectionate and sweet girl who loves her people, and are willing to help her work on her manners, then Athena could be the one for you. She just needs a little time and patience, and most of all love! Just look at that beautiful smile!

Athena is spayed, current on vaccinations, and microchipped. Her adoption fee includes a free visit to the veterinarian of your choice, and 30 days of opt-in pet insurance through Trupanion. Plus, through November 30, we’re offering half off pet adoption fees! (Regular pet license rates may still apply.)
