Rover Scholarship Program: Honorary Class of 2019
We’re excited to announce we’re doing it again!
RASKC is celebrating our Honorary Rovers in a special way. These special pups are ready to graduate into their new homes! Thanks to our friends at Trupanion, when you adopt a member of our honorary rover class we will waive the adoption fee* and provide a training scholarship of up to $400. Additionally, Value Pet Clinic will be providing the furr-ever new adopters with a complimentary Pet Annual Wellness Plan (Essential Package) that provides a comprehensive level of preventative care, an important step in the pet’s health and well-being.

Buster “Most likely to make ‘fetch’ happen!”
- Description: Br Brindle / White
- Neutered Male Pit Bull / Mix Dog
- Age: 4 YEARS 10 MONTHS
- Adoption Fee: Waived (Purchase of $30 pet license required for adopters within RASKC’s service area.)
Hi friends! Welcome to my profile!
Most likely to make “fetch” happen?! Well of course I can! Ball is life! Besides “fetch”, “sit”, “stay”, “come”, “shake”, and “down”, I’ve mastered the art of rollover for rubs and treats, just say “belly” and I’ll show you!
Post-graduation, I would love to join my fur-ever family on long hikes, never ending cuddle sessions, and receiving plenty of belly rubs and kisses. I am loving and loyal to my favorite people so much that I sometimes display separation anxiety, but I do feel safe if kept crated when I’m left alone. My foster parents told me that I am very sweet and affectionate (tell me something I don’t already know), and that I am well behaved when having sleep overs at their house. I know to stay off of furniture, to leave the cats alone when I see them, and to not pull my human while walking on leash. As a bonus, I have no accidents in my crate overnight!

I’ve let my caregivers know that I do not like other dogs, as I believe I am the best “good boy” there is! I prefer to be the only dog in my new home. I am also unsure about how to play with young children. If there are other dogs or young children, I would love a slow introduction and plenty of time for me to open up and adjust to my new family. With this scholarship, my wish is for my family to continue working with me on my manners and help me become the best dog I can be!

Can you tell that I am very easily pre-occupied? I know how to “sit” and “shake”! Will you teach me some more tricks? I would love you learn them all! Can we pleaaaase snuggle? I don’t like other dogs or cats. I’ll chase them away for you! I know that’s not nice. Can I be the only dog that love you forever, pretty please? Will you love me and pet me and work with me on my manners? I am sorry about my SQUIRREL! …I mean…short attention span, but everything is just so exciting! Did I tell you what a good boy I am? I’ve been told many times by my care givers at RASKC. What is a RASKC anyways? …Hmm…Oh! I know, that’s where I get to play and get treats! Can I do that at your dog-savvy home also?
I do best when I have lots of exercise and activities to keep my mind busy. Speaking of which, can we go play now? I just love you so much!

Sydney “Class of 2019 Sweetheart”
- Description: Brown / White
- Spayed Female American Staffordshire / Mix Dog
- Age: 2 YEARS 1 MONTH
- Adoption Fee: Waived (Purchase of $30 pet license required for adopters within RASKC’s service area.)
Attention: Tender Loving Care required for this happy tail!
No, seriously, I do have a happy tail that has a mind of its own! I am full of energy and love to join you on exciting adventures! I love to play, snuggle, exercise and engage in enrichment activities that keep my mind busy. Graduating as a Class of 2019 Sweetheart, I wish to have all the attention to myself. I would love to be spoiled as the only pet in my forever home with dog-savvy adults. My caregivers have observed that I might not get along with other dogs. I will need to meet with them first with a slow introduction in our home. In my down time, I love to snuggle and take things slow. I might get nervous in new situations; it takes some time for me to warm up and be a devoted member to my new family.

Being a Class Sweetheart isn’t easy. My caregivers are very dedicated in taking care of my happy tail and my daily routine. To maintain my “healthy and happy pet” status, I need to continue my special diet, special skin care products, and receive regular veterinarian visits.
With this scholarship, my wish is for my family to continue working with me and help me become the best dog I can be!

About Rover Scholarship
At RASKC, we are the safety net for many animals who find themselves at our facility. While many of them are quickly reunited or rehomed, we recognize that some of our animals may have some quirks that can make it harder for adopters to see their true potential. This is why we have created the RASKC Rover Scholarship Program. In order to help these dogs thrive, we are proud to offer a waived adoption fee* as well as a $400 training scholarship for adopters who seek professional training classes or individual training for our rover scholars.
