Pet Update: Frankie
Frankie was adopted in 2013 by Franki, a foster pet parent who provided the Shih Tzu with a forever home. This is her story in her own words. Learn how the Angel Fund saved Frankie’s life, or if you are interested in learning how to become a foster pet parent, visit us at RASKC foster a pet site.
In the summer of 2013 I met a wonderful little nine-month-old male Shih Tzu, named Frankie. He was severely abused by being kicked in the face which resulted in his lower jaw being broken in two places and went permanently blind from the head trauma.
My heart went out to this little guy and I decided to give him a quiet, calm and loving foster home where he could recover. I took him to all his doctor appointments for check-ups and finally five months later, the day came when he had his external “jaw braces” removed. What a happy day it was for the both of us!
He still had some recover time to do to make sure his jaw was completely healed before being able to be adopted. Three more months passed and his doctor said he was ready to be adopted.
Well, it was time to find Frankie a perfect, forever home, where he could receive the love, care and protection he deserved. I then realized I was deeply in love with this little fellow!
I called RASKC and said I wanted to be the one to adopt Frankie and every one agreed that would be the best decision for him.
It has been over two years now and he has grown to be a happy, healthy dog. He is a complete joy to me every day!
Thank you RASKC for the wonderful things you do for all the animals!!!
