Pet of the Week: Kenai

We’ve got our eye on Kenai, our Pet of the Week!

This two-year-old pittie boy came to us earlier this month because his original owners could no longer care for him. At 70 pounds, Kenai is considered a large breed dog.

Kenai lived with another dog in his previous home, and his previous owners said he can be shy at first but opens up once he gets to know you. Kenai is an affectionate lovebug, and would love to hang out with you at home once he gets settled in.

Because of his shy nature, Kenai would do best in a calm, quiet home without children. He is still working on his manners, so he will need steady guidance from his people so that he can become the best dog he can be. Kenai is a very spirited dog, so he will benefit from exercise and activities to keep his mind busy.

If you’re looking for a devoted friend, Kenai may be the one for you! He is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and microchipped. His adoption comes with many benefits, including 30 days of opt-in pet health insurance from Trupanion and a lifetime discount on online training from GoodPup. During our “Clear The Shelters” adoption special, you can take Kenai home for just $30, the cost of a pet license. Learn about all the benefits that come with a pet license at kingcounty.gov/LicenseMyPet.

You can adopt any pet for $30 or less now through September 10 at the King County Pet Adoption Center, 21615 64th Ave. S. in Kent. Adoption hours are noon to 5 p.m. weekdays, and noon to 4 p.m. weekends. See all of our adorable adoptables anytime at kingcounty.gov/AdoptAPet.
