Pet of the Week: Duke

Happy, energetic Duke is our Pet of the Week!

This Alaskan Malamute/German Shepherd mix came to the Pet Adoption Center as a stray back in January. At almost 75 pounds, he’s considered a large breed dog.

Duke will bring a lot of love and energy to your home! He is one of our “Playgroup Pals” at RASKC – when you come in, ask our staff about his interactions with other dogs at the shelter. Duke can be choosy about his friends, so he would do best as an “only dog” or with a slow introduction.

With his energy level and smarts, Duke will do best in a home where he gets a lot of exercise and activities to keep his active mind busy. Duke also needs help with “resource guarding,” especially around food.

If you’re ready to open your heart and home to this sweetie, Duke is ready for you! He is neutered, current on vaccinations, and microchipped. During our “Pick Your Price” adoption special on dogs, you could pay as little as $25, plus the cost of a pet license if applicable. Learn about all the benefits that come with a pet license at kingcounty.gov/LicenseMyPet.

Come visit us at the Pet Adoption Center weekdays from noon to 5 p.m. or weekends from noon to 4 p.m. to see all the great pets we have waiting for you. You can also see the bios of our adoptable animals at kingcounty.gov/AdoptAPet. If you have questions, feel free to contact RASKC at 206-296-7387 (PETS) or pets@kingcounty.gov.
