Pet of the Week: Aspen
Standing (almost) tall as a tree is our Pet of the Week Aspen!
This young Labrador Retriever/Rottweiler mix was brought in to the Pet Adoption Center by his previous owners in late December because they were moving and could not take him with. Aspen is a little over a year old, and is considered a large breed dog.
Aspen is an affectionate lovebug who would be thrilled to cuddle up with you at home! He is also very smart, practicing his commands like sit, stay, come, and down. Aspen is full of energy, so he’s one of our Rambunctious Red personality pets. He will need lots of exercise and activities to keep his mind busy. Also, caregivers have noted that Aspen might not get along with other dogs, so he will either need to be an “only dog” in his new home, or have a slow, careful introduction to new dogs. Because of his spirited nature, Aspen would do best in an adults-only home.
Ready for adventures with Aspen? He is neutered, current on vaccinations, and microchipped. His adoption comes with many benefits, including 30 days of opt-in pet health insurance through Trupanion. During our “Name Your Price” promotion on large adult dogs this month, you can decide what you’d like to pay for Aspen’s adoption fee – it could even be free! (Note that a pet license fee may still apply.) Learn about all the benefits that come with a pet license at kingcounty.gov/LicenseMyPet.
