Pet of the Week: Teine

There’s nothing tiny about Teine, our Pet of the Week!

This young German Shepherd first came to us in early May because her previous owners didn’t have the time to care for her. Teine was adopted once, but came back soon after because it wasn’t a good match with her adopter – and that’s okay! It happens sometimes, and RASKC has an Adoption Guarantee if things don’t work out.

Teine has lived in a home with older children, and was described by her previous owner as outgoing, loving, and playful. She is full of energy, and also independent, so she’s one of our “Rambunctious Red” pets. Teine tends to calm down when the people around her stay calm, and she does best when she has lots of exercise and something to keep her active mind busy.

Caregivers have noticed that Teine might not get along with other dogs. So, she may do best as the only dog in her new home, or she may need a very slow introduction to other dogs. She is also still working on good doggy manners, so Teine would do best with a family that is willing to work with her to help her become the best dog she can be.

Teine is all ready for you – are you ready for her? She is spayed, current on vaccinations, and microchipped. Teine’s adoption comes with many benefits, including 30 days of opt-in pet insurance through Trupanion. And since she is our Pet of the Week, her adoption fee is reduced, though a pet license fee may still apply. Learn all about the benefits of pet licensing at kingcounty.gov/LicenseMyPet.

Our Pet Adoption Center is open to walk-in adopters from noon to 5 p.m. on weekdays, and noon to 4 p.m. on weekends. See all of our adoptable pets at kingcounty.gov/AdoptAPet. If you have questions, contact us at 206-296-7387 (PETS) or pets@kingcounty.gov.
