Pet of the Week: Bruno

Our Pet of the Week Bruno would love the gift of a new home for the holidays!

This pittie mix boy was brought in to the Pet Adoption Center by a good Samaritan in October. When he first arrived, Bruno was very shy, but recently he has started to come out of his shell. He’s still a bit nervous in new situations, so that’s why he’s one of our “Bashful Blue” personality pets. Caregivers have noticed that he does well with other calm large dogs, but as always when meeting dogs in a new home a slow introduction is best.

Bruno is a gentle and loving dog who likes to take things slow. He may get nervous in new situations, so Bruno is looking for a family who understands that it might take some time for him to warm up. But once he gets to know you, Bruno will be a very devoted friend.

While Bruno is still a bit shy and nervous walking through the shelter’s kennel area, once he gets outside his true personality emerges. Bruno is an active and energetic dog and super friendly – it just takes him a little longer than some dogs to get used to new things.

Bruno has had two recent surgeries to remove abnormal growths. One of the growths was determined to be a form of skin cancer, but the skilled veterinarians were able to remove all of the abnormal tissue with clean margins. Bruno should be closely monitored by his adopters for any potential regrowth, as it is possible more tumors could develop and require additional surgery. As always, regular veterinary care is recommended for all pets. The staff at the Pet Adoption Center will be happy to discuss Bruno’s health care needs when you schedule a visit.

If you’re looking for an energetic and friendly boy to add to your family, then Bruno could be the one for you! Bruno is neutered, current on vaccinations, and microchipped. His adoption comes with a free visit to the veterinarian of your choice and 30 days of opt-in pet insurance through Trupanion. Since he is our Pet of the Week, Bruno’s adoption fee has been reduced, though a pet license fee may apply.
