Pet of the Week: Ben
Nine out of ten, your best bet is Ben, our Pet of the Week!
This handsome boy is nicknamed “Beefcake” for a reason – he weighs 65 pounds! (He could probably afford to lose a few.) Ben was brought in by his previous owner in early May because he prefers a home with no kids. Ben’s previous owner described him as outgoing, loving, and playful.
If you’re looking for a very smart dog, Ben is your pup. Right now, he is practicing his commands like sit, stay, come, and heel. Ben has gone out on several adventures with volunteers, and has a blast riding in the car and visiting local parks. His favorite activity is going to the lake to swim – Ben also loves to watch the ducks fly around!
Caregivers at the Pet Adoption Center have noticed that Ben doesn’t get along with other dogs. He also has a strong prey drive that causes him to chase anything that moves. Since he’s got such high spirits, Ben is one of our “Rambunctious Red” personality pets. He would do best in a home with people who can work with him on his doggy manners and help him become the best dog he can be.
Ben is neutered, current on vaccinations, and microchipped. Our vets ran bloodwork and prescribed a vitamin B12 supplement for Ben to improve his levels. His adoption includes a free visit to the veterinarian of your choice and 30 days of opt-in pet insurance through Trupanion. Since Ben is our Pet of the Week, his adoption fee has been reduced. (A pet license is also a requirement, so that fee may still apply.)
