Celebrating the Class of 2021: Camellia Qiang
Graduating from: Eastlake High School (Sammamish)
RASKC Team: Cat-Care Team at Kirkland Petco
How your graduation experience will be unique due to the pandemic: “I took many of my classes online, so the way I interacted with my classmates and teachers was different. But I got to participate in in-person graduation, so that’s exciting. Due to COVID, this opportunity is so precious :)”
Hoping this will continue post-pandemic: “Keep exercising and reading.”
Most proud of in the last year or two: “I kept my grades up and read a lot of books!”
Looking forward to: “Finding a part-time job and hanging out with friends during this summer!”
What’s next: “College!” University of Washington
Most memorable volunteering experience: “I loved working with my fellow volunteers and interacting with kitties!”
Advice to new RASKC volunteers: “Sign up for orientation ASAP if you want to get involved! Also, the training shift with job shadowing is really helpful;)”
Will you volunteer after graduation? “Definitely! I loved everything about RASKC. Best volunteer experience ever. I would definitely participate in more RASKC events even after going off to college.”
Fun fact: “We already had two cats before I volunteered for RASKC and we thought that was enough, but no… we adopted our third kitty after I saw his picture on RASKC’s Instagram page:) volunteering really might make you feel like adopting more furry friends :)”
