Get acquainted with Garfield, our Pet of the Week!

This outgoing, playful boy came to the Pet Adoption Center in late April because his previous owner could no longer care for him. Garfield lived in a home with older children and did great! His previous owner says that Garfield is a lovely cat, and occasionally liked to go outside (supervised, of course!) to sunbathe in the grass.

When Garfield first got to the Pet Adoption Center, he was overwhelmed by the new environment. He was admittedly pretty grumpy at first, but a few staff members gave him the benefit of the doubt. In return, Garfield decided to “wow” them with how friendly he truly could be! Garfield is a flirtatious cat now, grabbing all the attention he can by rubbing on everything and begging to be petted. Garfield has a very loving and attentive personality, and has become a staff favorite.

As one of our “Rambunctious Red” pets, Garfield can be very spirited. He may be sensitive to handling, so Garfield would do best in a home with a cat-savvy family who knows when to give him some space. Because of his spunky personality, we think he would do best in a home with older children who know how to respect his space.

Garfield is neutered and microchipped. His adoption comes with a free visit to the veterinarian of your choice and 30 days of opt-in pet insurance through Trupanion. Since he is our Pet of the Week, Garfield’s adoption fee is reduced, although a pet license fee may still be required. Check out our Pet Licensing page to learn all the benefits that come with a King County pet license.
