Pet of the Week: Sugar
Here’s a little something to sweeten your life – Sugar, our Pet of the Week!
This ebony beauty was brought in by her previous family because they could no longer care for her. They described her as very friendly – and she definitely is! Sugar is an affectionate lovebug who would be thrilled to cuddle up with you at home. She doesn’t seem to get along with other cats, though, so it would be best if she’s the only cat in her new home. Sugar has an “Easy Going Green” personality – an adaptable cat who loves to go with the flow! Sugar is outgoing and carefree, and just can’t wait to find her forever home.
Sugar tested positive for Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV). Cats with FeLV can still live fulfilling lives, but a little extra care may be required. She should also be indoors only for her health and safety. Her previous family reported signs of chronic upper respiratory issues, but Sugar has shown improvement on antibiotics while staying with us. Sugar may need to be on medication at some point, or need other specialized care in the future. Regular veterinary visits are always recommended for any pet.
If you’re looking for a friendly and affectionate companion who would make a great cuddle buddy, then Sugar could be the one for you!
Sugar is spayed, litter box trained, current on vaccinations, and microchipped. As Pet of the Week, Sugar’s adoption fee as been waived! (A pet license fee may still be required.) Included with Sugar’s adoption is a free visit to the veterinarian of your choice and 30 days of opt-in pet insurance through Trupanion.
You can find out more about Sugar on our website, kingcounty.gov/AdoptAPet. We are still open for adoptions at the Pet Adoption Center in Kent during the COVID-19 pandemic, but we may limit in-person service as needed.
