Pet of the Week: Wilson
We’d like to introduce you to Wilson, our Pet of the Week!
This super senior boy loves getting attention from his humans, and especially loves neck rubs! Wilson has an “Easy Going Green” personality, meaning he is adaptable, outgoing, and carefree. Wilson is also independent and likes to do his own thing at times. He can get a bit overstimulated with petting, so just keep an eye out for signs he may need a break. Wilson has lived with other cats and dogs but didn’t get along well with them, and may do best as an only cat in his new home where he can be the center of your attention!
Wilson was declawed on his front paws and will need to be an indoor-only kitty for his safety, as he can’t protect himself outside or easily get away from predators. He came to us because his previous family was unable to care for his medical needs. Wilson has hyperthyroid, which can be easily managed with daily medication, iodine treatment, or prescription diet. Wilson also has a history of urinating outside of his litter box. This is likely related to his hyperthyroidism, but may also be behavioral or situational. He also has some dental issues that may need treatment in the future. Our staff and volunteers will be happy to answer any questions you have about Wilson’s needs when you come visit.
If you have room in your home and your heart for an older kitty who needs some extra care, Wilson could be the one for you! He is anxiously awaiting your arrival to whisk him away to his forever home.
Wilson is neutered, current on vaccinations, and microchipped. His adoption fee includes a free visit to the veterinarian of your choice, and 30 days of opt-in pet insurance through Trupanion. You can find out more about Wilson on kingcounty.gov/AdoptAPet, or visit him in person at our Kent location.
