Pet of the Week: Slinky

She’s fun for a girl or a boy – she’s Slinky, our Pet of the Week!

This young black cat is an affectionate lovebug who likes getting attention on her own terms. She can get overstimulated with petting, so you just need to keep an eye out for signs she may need a break. Since she is so spirited, she’s one of our “Rambunctious Red” pets.

Slinky’s caregivers have noticed she doesn’t seem to get along well with other cats, so may do best as the only cat in her new home where she can be the princess receiving undivided love and attention! She can also be a bit shy at times and would prefer a quiet, low-traffic home. Slinky is very friendly with her humans and likes to talk and let you know how her day went!

Slinky has been tentatively diagnosed with Feline Lower Urinary Tract Disease. This can be caused by a combination of stress, diet, and water intake. It may require specialized care such as special food, medicine, and of course regular veterinary visits. Our staff and volunteers at RASKC will be happy to answer any questions you may have when you come for a visit.

Slinky is spayed, litter box trained, current on vaccinations, and microchipped. Her adoption fee includes a free visit to the veterinarian of your choice and 30 days of opt-in pet insurance through Trupanion.

You can find out more about Slinky on our website, kingcounty.gov/AdoptAPet, or visit her in person at the Pet Adoption Center in Kent.
