Tails from the Field: Thanks to Kent Fire Department Station 74
Officer Goldstone and I responded to a call regarding a dog named Bear whose head was completely stuck in the middle of a tire rim with the tire attached. We tried everything including soaping the dog’s head and neck with dish soap but could not get him free. We called the local fire station and Art, Ryan and Joe from Engine 74 from Kent responded. They stabilized the tire, kept the dog calm and used a sawzall to cut small chunks of the rim away from around his head until he was able to pull his head free. The dog was unharmed but had obviously had a rough day and ran inside.
So big thanks to Engine 74. Their work was intricate in freeing the dog.
