Tails from the Field: Reunion one year later
A year ago, the Bensons family lost their cat, Boomer, when their real estate agent came over and the cat bolted out the door. After months of searching to no avail, the family moved to Federal Way sadly thinking they would never see Boomer again.
Unbeknownst to the Bensons, just on the other side of I-5, there was a woman who noticed a cat coming around her place in Kent only a couple of weeks ago. Assuming it was a stray cat – and after many trials and errors – she was able to catch him and bring him to RASKC’s adoption center in Kent. When our field officers noticed that the cat was micro-chipped, the company was able to confirm Boomer’s identity, including a missing report dated from May 2015. We immediately called to notify the Bensons who were shocked, relieved and overwhelmed with the good news. They quickly jumped in their car and came over to pick up their long lost friend. I asked them if I could take a picture and this was the result – a beautifully warm family photo.
