Welcome to Tails from RASKC – a new blog that highlights the positive difference that Regional Animal Services of King County makes in the lives of animals, and their families.

One of my proudest achievements as County Executive is improving the performance of our regional animal services to make them more humane, affordable, and accessible. Over the past few years, we’ve nearly doubled the percentage of animals in our shelters that are either adopted or returned home, to about 85 percent.

We’re also doing more to improve the quality of life of the pets that are so important to our families by encouraging residents to get their pets licensed, offering volunteer and donation opportunities, and helping even more pets find their forever home. This blog builds on our success by providing helpful tips and profiling lovable pets that need a home.
