Pet of the Week: Dugan

Sweet senior Dugan is our Pet of the Week!

This 11-year-old Rottweiler mix was brought in to the Pet Adoption Center by a good Samaritan. At 74 pounds, Dugan is considered a large breed dog.

Dugan is an affectionate lovebug who would be thrilled to hang out with you at home. He’s an easy-going guy, and would prefer to have a home he can wander around in and have a couch and bed to share with his people. He also enjoys walks and is good on a leash.

Dugan is known for being a “trash panda” – if a trash can is out, or there’s food on the counter he can reach, Dugan will claim it as his own. (Pizza is his favorite food to steal.) He is allergic to chicken, which causes him to break out in hives, lose fur, and get itchy. His caretakers have been giving him baths to help with allergies.

Dugan has lived in a home with another small, calm dog and did well. As always, a slow introduction to current pets in his new home will be best. Dugan has also been part of our Playgroup Pals – feel free to ask our staff or volunteers about how he interacts with other canines!

Dig Dugan? He’d love to meet you! Dugan is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and microchipped. During our “Luck of the Dog” adoption special this month, you can take Dugan home for just $50. Thanks to our friends at Rover, all dog adopters at RASKC get a $40 voucher toward training. Adopters can also benefit from enrolling their new family member in Fetch Pet Insurance. Fetch offers the most comprehensive plan in North America with no restrictions on breed, age, or size. Together, RASKC and Fetch are making sure pets are happy and healthy in their new forever homes!
