Pet of the Week: Vonnegut

Write the next chapter in your story by adopting Vonnegut, our Pet of the Week!

This young German Shepherd mix, “Vonnie” for short, is looking for a family to call his own. Vonnegut is considered a large breed dog.

He may be young, but Vonnegut is very smart and already knows his basic commands like sit, stay, come, and wait. He’s also very treat motivated, which will help with his further learning.

Vonnegut has lots of energy and loves to play. He’s very gentle with his stuffed toys, and loves to be walked by our volunteers. He is still learning his leash manners, and is getting better every day. Vonnegut is also quite affectionate, loves to cuddle, and can often be found laying in his bed playing with his toys. Because he’s still working on his best doggy manners, Vonnegut would do best in an adults-only home, or one with older children.

If you made a resolution to adopt a new pet in the new year, here’s your chance! Vonnegut is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and microchipped. His adoption comes with many benefits, including a rebate on dog training through Rover and an offer for pet health insurance from Fetch. Because he’s our Pet of the Week, Vonnegut’s adoption fee has been reduced, though a license fee may still apply. Learn about all the benefits that come with a King County pet license at kingcounty.gov/LicenseMyPet.
