Pet of the Week: Ichabod

Fall in love with Ichabod, our Pet of the Week!

This three-year-old Labrador Retriever mix was brought in to the Pet Adoption Center by a good Samaritan in late September. At 61 pounds, he’s considered a large breed dog.

Ichabod is a lanky fellow – just like his namesake Ichabod Crane from “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow.” But unlike that famous Ichabod, this one is playful and affectionate. He also loves squeaky toys! Ichabod is a great walking companion, and checks in often with his people during a stroll. This handsome boy is also very smart and treat motivated, and he’s been learning new commands and tricks during his stay with us.

Are you ready to take this legendary dog home with you? He is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and microchipped. His adoption comes with many benefits, including 30 days of opt-in pet health insurance from Trupanion and a credit for training from Rover. Because he’s our Pet of the Week, Ichabod’s adoption fee is reduced, but a pet license fee may apply. Learn about all the benefits that come with a pet license at kingcounty.gov/LicenseMyPet.

See all the great dogs, cats, rabbits, and even guinea pigs waiting for their fur-ever homes at the King County Pet Adoption Center, 21615 64th Ave. S. in Kent. Adoption hours are noon to 5 p.m. weekdays, and noon to 4 p.m. weekends. All of our adoptable animals can be seen online at kingcounty.gov/AdoptAPet.
