Pet of the Week: Joel

We’d like to introduce you to our Pet of the Week – Joel!

This four-year-old Alaskan Husky came to the Pet Adoption Center in late June. At 68 pounds, he’s considered a large breed dog. Joel is a bit overweight though, and would benefit from losing a few pounds.

Joel is a very smart boy – he already knows “sit,” “shake,” and “lay down.” As a Husky, Joel is also full of energy and very vocal. He loves to play, and does best when he gets lots of exercise and activities to keep his mind busy. He is still working on his manners, so he’ll need a home with people who can work with him so he can become the best dog he can be.

Are you ready to welcome Joel into your life? He is neutered, microchipped, and current on vaccinations. His adoption comes with many benefits, including 30 days of opt-in pet health insurance from Trupanion and a lifetime discount on online training from GoodPup. Since he’s our Pet of the Week, Joel’s adoption fee is reduced, but a pet license fee may still apply. Learn about all the benefits that come with a pet license at kingcounty.gov/LicenseMyPet.

We have lots of great dogs, cats, rabbits, and other critters waiting for their fur-ever homes. You can see them all at kingcounty.gov/AdoptAPet. And don’t forget: we’ve got daily pet adoption specials through July 31. Adoption hours at our facility in Kent are noon to 5pm weekdays and noon to 4pm weekends. If you have questions, contact RASKC at 206-296-7387 (PETS) or email pets@kingcounty.gov.
