Pet of the Week: Lucia

Big dogs equal big love! Here’s Lucia, our Pet of the Week!

This five-year-old Rottweiler came to us as a stray. At 84 pounds, Lucia is considered a large breed dog.

Lucia is a shy girl, and would love a home with people who can help her come out of her shell. Her outgoing side will come out if someone takes the time to give her the love and attention she needs (and deserves). At the Pet Adoption Center, Lucia has a quiet, polite demeanor and enjoys the company of calm, quiet people. She seems to like routine and being low-key.

Lucia is a bit overweight, so her new family will need to work with their veterinarian to get her down to a healthy weight. Lucia is gentle and loving, and loves to lay around. She may get nervous in new situations, but once you get to know Lucia (and she gets to know you) she will be a very devoted friend!

Lucia is currently in a RASKC foster home, not at the shelter. If you’re interested in adopting her, visit kingcounty.gov/AdoptAPet and look for her bio. From there, you can fill out a Foster Interest Form and learn more about the foster adoption process.

Can you find room in your heart and home for Lucia? She is spayed, microchipped, and current on vaccinations. Her adoption comes with many benefits, including 30 days of opt-in pet health insurance from Trupanion and a lifetime discount on online training from GoodPup. Since she’s our Pet of the Week, Lucia’s adoption fee is reduced, but a pet license fee may still apply. Learn about all the benefits that come with a pet license at kingcounty.gov/LicenseMyPet.

We have lots of great dogs, cats, rabbits, and other critters waiting for their fur-ever homes. You can see them all at kingcounty.gov/AdoptAPet. If you visit our Pet Adoption Center in Kent, our adoption hours are noon to 5pm weekdays and noon to 4pm weekends. If you have questions, contact RASKC at 206-296-7387 (PETS) or email pets@kingcounty.gov.
