Pet of the Week: Ferdinand

Gentle giant Ferdinand is our Pet of the Week!

This three-year-old mastiff mix was brought in by one of our animal control officers in late December. At 77 pounds, Ferdinand is considered a large breed dog.

While he is a big boy, Ferdinand is very gentle and loving. He loves treats and toys, and that will help with his training. Because of his size, Ferdinand would do best in an adults-only home, or in a home with older children. He may get nervous in new situations, so he will need people who understand that he may need some time to get adjusted.

Can you give Ferdinand the fur-ever home he craves? He is neutered, current on vaccinations, and microchipped. His adoption comes with many benefits, including 30 days of opt-in pet health insurance through Trupanion and a lifetime discount on online training from GoodPup. Since he’s our Pet of the Week, there’s no adoption fee for Ferdinand, though a pet license fee may still apply. Learn about all the benefits that come with a pet license at kingcounty.gov/LicenseMyPet.

The King County Pet Adoption Center is located at 21615 64th Ave. S. in Kent. Adoption hours are noon to 5 p.m. weekdays and noon to 4 p.m. weekends. We will be closed on January 20 for the Martin Luther King, Jr. Day holiday. You can see all the animals available for adoption anytime at kingcounty.gov/AdoptAPet. If you have questions, contact RASKC at 206-296-7387 (PETS) or email pets@kingcounty.gov.
