Pet of the Week: Oreck

Look at that gorgeous smile! This is Oreck, our Pet of the Week!

Oreck came to the Pet Adoption Center in late November. At 68 pounds, he’s considered a large breed dog.

Oreck’s favorite activities are eating and being loved on. He’s not quite aware of his size, so he can be a bit pushy when it comes to getting things he wants, like attention and snacks. Because of his size, Oreck may be more successful in a home with adults only, or with older children. Oreck has not met any other dogs while at RASKC, so if you currently have a dog in your home, you’re encouraged to bring them to meet Oreck at the shelter. Our staff can help you get off on the right paw!

Oreck is a spirited dog with a fun-loving personality. He is still working on his manners, so he would do best with a family who is willing to work with him and help him become the best dog he can be. Oreck has quickly become a favorite with our staff. They all say his happy-go-lucky attitude and adorable snorts are the best part of their day!

Ready to adopt Oreck? He is neutered, current on vaccinations, and microchipped. His adoption comes with many benefits, including 30 days of opt-in pet health insurance through Trupanion and a lifetime discount on online training from GoodPup. Since Oreck is our Pet of the Week, his adoption fee is reduced, though a pet license fee may still apply. Learn about all the benefits that come with a King County pet license at kingcounty.gov/LicenseMyPet.

There are so many great pets waiting for great homes – stop by the Pet Adoption Center to meet them all! We’re open from noon to 5 p.m. weekdays and noon to 4 p.m. weekends for pet adoptions. You can see all the available pets at kingcounty.gov/AdoptAPet. If you have questions, contact RASKC at 206-296-7387 (PETS) or pets@kingcounty.gov.
