Pet of the Week: Danny

Oh, Danny boy – the pipes are calling for you to be our Pet of the Week!

This three-year-old German Shepherd/Siberian Husky mix was brought in by an animal control officer in mid-June. At 77 pounds, Danny is considered a large breed dog.

Danny can be a bit shy at first and likes to take things slow. He hasn’t shown much interest in toys or treats at the Pet Adoption Center, but the shelter can be a stressful place for a dog like him, so he may warm up to them in his fur-ever home.

Danny has shown that he knows how to sit and shake. He does get nervous in new situations though, so he will need a home where his new people can give him the time and space he needs to warm up. Once he gets to know you, Danny will be a devoted friend!

Danny has a tendency to “resource guard,” displaying behavior that is intended to convince other dogs and people to stay away from a particular item. He tends to guard his people the most, so in-home guidance will help manage and improve this behavior.

Can you give Danny the home he needs? He is neutered, current on vaccinations, and microchipped. His adoption comes with many benefits, including 30 days of opt-in pet health insurance from Trupanion and a lifetime discount on online training from GoodPup. Since he’s our Pet of the Week, Danny’s adoption fee is reduced, but a pet license fee may still apply. Learn about all the benefits that come with a pet license at kingcounty.gov/LicenseMyPet.

The King County Pet Adoption Center is open weekdays from noon to 5 p.m. and weekends noon to 4 p.m. for walk-in adoptions. We’re located at 21615 64th Ave. S. in Kent. You can see all of the pets we have available for adoption anytime online at kingcounty.gov/AdoptAPet. If you have questions about Danny, or any of our adoptable pets, contact RASKC at 206-296-7387 (PETS) or pets@kingcounty.gov.
