Pet of the Week: Karma
Nothing but good vibes from our Pet of the Week Karma!
This five-year-old pittie mix was brought in by an animal control officer in early June after she was abandoned at a park. At almost 60 pounds, Karma is considered a large breed dog.
Karma was almost completely shut down when she arrived at the Pet Adoption Center – perhaps because she was abandoned by her previous people. Staff and volunteers have been working to bring her out of her shell, and Karma is starting to learn that people aren’t so bad.
While she is shy around new people, once Karma gets to know you she just wants to be near you. Karma also has a lot of energy to spare. She will do best in a calm, quiet home where she gets all the time she needs to warm up to her new family. She walks well on a leash, and is (mostly) potty trained.
If you’re looking for a devoted friend, Karma is looking for you! She is spayed, microchipped, and current on vaccinations. Her adoption comes with many benefits, including 30 days of opt-in pet health insurance through Trupanion, and a lifetime discount on online training from GoodPup. Since she is our Pet of the Week, Karma’s adoption fee is reduced, but a pet license fee may still apply. Learn about all the benefits that come with a pet license at kingcounty.gov/LicenseMyPet.
We have a ton of dogs, cats, and other critters waiting to be adopted – why not come see them? The King County Pet Adoption Center is open from noon to 5 p.m. weekdays and noon to 4 p.m. on weekends. You can see all the pets available for adoption at kingcounty.gov/AdoptAPet. We will be closed on Thursday, July 4 for Independence Day. If you have questions, contact RASKC at 206-296-7387 (PETS) or pets@kingcounty.gov.
