We’ve got double the cuteness for Pet of the Week this week – say hello to Beetle and Salamander!

Beetle is an 11-week-old torbie/gray kitten, while Salamander is a 13-week-old torbie. Both of them were brought in by a good Samaritan in May. They would love to be adopted together!

Due to severe damage from an upper respiratory infection, Beetle had to have both eyes removed. While she cannot see, she does great getting around! Blind cats can live full, happy lives despite having a disability. However, Beetle will need to be an indoor-only cat with a consistent environment, and with a family that understands her unique needs.

Salamander also had an eye removed due to infection, and her other eye is still recovering from a corneal abrasion. She is currently on medication to manage this condition, and as always a follow-up with a veterinarian is recommended. Like her compatriot Beetle, Salamander will also need to be an indoor cat.

Because they are both shy, it will be important to be patient with them and allow them time to acclimate to a new environment at their own speed. Beetle and Salamander are sweet little girls and may need extra time and attention to warm up to new situations and new people. These two cuddle buddies can’t wait to find their “together forever” home!

Both Beetle and Salamander are spayed, current on vaccinations, and microchipped. Their adoption comes with many benefits, including 30 days of opt-in pet health insurance through Trupanion. Since they were selected as Pet of the Week, their adoption fee is reduced, though a pet license fee may still apply.
