Pet of the Week: Shippo

Hip hip hooray for our Pet of the Week Shippo!

This young German Shepherd was brought in by an animal control officer in early December. At 73 pounds, he’s considered a large breed dog.

Shippo is just over a year old, so he still has lots of puppy energy! He’s an independent boy who loves to play, making him one of our Rambunctious Red personality pets. Shippo came in with his friend Kagome, who was our Pet of the Week last week but didn’t get adopted yet. The two of them love to pal around, so it would be great if we could find a home for BOTH of them together!

Since he’s so full of energy, Shippo will need a home where he gets lots of exercise and has activities to keep his mind busy. He is still working on his doggy manners, so Shippo would do best in a home with older children.

Are you ready to help Shippo become the best dog he can be? He is neutered, current on vaccinations, and microchipped. His adoption comes with many benefits, including 30 days of opt-in pet health insurance through Trupanion. Best of all, during our “Name Your Price” promotion in February, YOU decide what you’d like Shippo’s adoption fee to be – maybe even FREE! (Note that a pet license fee may still apply.) Learn about all the benefits that come with a pet license at kingcounty.gov/LicenseMyPet.

Shippo, Kagome, and all their four-legged friends are waiting to meet you – come visit soon! The Pet Adoption Center is located at 21615 64th Ave. S. in Kent. Walk-in adoption hours are noon to 5 p.m. weekdays and noon to 4 p.m. weekends. See profiles of all our adoptable pets at kingcounty.gov/AdoptAPet.
