Pet of the Week: Rigby
Are you looking for an active, energetic dog to join your household? Then look at Rigby, our Pet of the Week!
This young Rottweiler mix first came to the Pet Adoption Center in early November. He was adopted, but returned in December because he was a little too energetic for their lifestyle – and that’s okay! We have an Adoption Guarantee where you can return a pet adopted from RASKC if it’s not a good match.
Rigby weighs about 65 pounds, so he’s considered a large breed dog. As mentioned, he has TONS of energy and loves to play! He does need to learn some doggie manners, but luckily he’s very treat motivated, which will help with training. Rigby already knows sit and shake, and is working on his other commands. He would do best in a home without young children.
Because he’s got so much energy, Rigby is one of our Rambunctious Red personality pets. He tends to calm down when the people around him are calm. Getting lots of exercise and activities to keep his active mind busy will also help. Rigby is also a Playgroup Pal – you can ask our staff about his interactions with other dogs in playgroups at the Pet Adoption Center.
Can you give Rigby the active home he needs? He is neutered, current on vaccinations, and microchipped. His adoption comes with many benefits, including 30 days of opt-in pet health insurance through Trupanion. And since he’s our Pet of the Week, Rigby’s adoption fee has been reduced, though a pet license fee may still apply. Learn about all the benefits that come with a pet license at kingcounty.gov/LicenseMyPet.
