Pet of the Week: Geno

Who is this handsome gentleman? Why it’s Geno, our Pet of the Week!

This blue brindle and white pittie boy came to us in early September, so he’s been at the Pet Adoption Center for a while. At 84 pounds, Geno is definitely a large breed dog – in fact, he’s earned the nickname “Sausage King of Seattle” due to his portly nature. (Check out his hashtag on Instagram: #SausageKingOfSeattle.)

Geno has become accustomed to a life of leisure, so he is quite overweight. He will need a home where he can get a lot of exercise to get him back to a healthier weight. He loves being active, so it should be easy to get him on track to a longer, happier life. Geno loves to run in the yard, and he is surprisingly fast! He also loves chasing a big jolly ball around.

Although Geno is a big boy, he’s a gentle giant. Caregivers have noted that he walks well on a leash. Because he’s a big, friendly guy, Geno is one of our “Easy-Going Green” personality pets. He does well with children, but because he’s a bit of a heavyweight he might knock over young kids with his exuberance. We recommend a home with older children.

Geno is outgoing and carefree, and can’t wait to find his forever home! He is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations. Geno’s adoption comes with many benefits, including 30 days of opt-in pet health insurance through Trupanion. Because he’s our Pet of the Week, Geno’s adoption fee is reduced, though a pet license fee may still apply. Learn about all the benefits that come with a pet license at kingcounty.gov/LicenseMyPet.
