Pet of the Week: Sparky

Power up with Sparky, our Pet of the Week!

This black and white male cat came to us in mid-October because his previous owner could no longer care for him and his several friends. All of them have since been adopted, except for Sparky – so we’d really like to get him into his fur-ever home soon.

Sparky’s previous family said he is playful, affectionate, and food motivated. He is a bit shy, so Sparky is one of our “Bashful Blue” personality pets. It may take a bit of time for him to warm up to you, but once he does, Sparky will be an affectionate lovebug!

At this time, Sparky is being treated for a mild upper respiratory infection (sort of a “kitty cold”), and he also has conjunctivitis in one eye for which he is receiving medication. His eye should clear up by the time he is finished with his prescription treatment. Sparky is also overweight, which makes him susceptible to diabetes, arthritis, and other diseases. As with any pet, you should consult with your regular veterinarian on a care plan to keep your furry friend healthy.

Can you give Sparky the calm, loving home he craves? He is neutered, litterbox trained, up to date on vaccinations, and microchipped. Sparky’s adoption comes with many benefits, including 30 days of opt-in pet health insurance through Trupanion. As our Pet of the Week, Sparky’s adoption fee is reduced, but a pet license fee may still apply. Learn about all the benefits that come with a pet license at kingcounty.gov/LicenseMyPet.
