Pet of the Week: Boo
Don’t be scared, it’s just Boo, our Pet of the Week!
This sweet kitty came to us in mid-October because her previous owner could no longer care for her. Boo came in with her friends Sparky, Hippy, Samba, and Chacha. Boo and Sparky are still looking for their fur-ever homes.
Boo is a senior cat, but her previous owner says she still acts like a kitten! She walks on a harness, and gets along well with other cats. Boo has a “Bashful Blue” personality, meaning she is a gentle and loving cat who likes to take things slow. Boo loves to get and give affection, and would do best in a calm and quiet home where she can cuddle up with her people.
Boo has been diagnosed with hyperthyroidism, or excess production of thyroid hormone. This condition can cause weight loss, increased vocalization, increased urine production, and heart disease. Her condition is being managed with daily medication, and her thyroid hormone levels should be monitored. Other treatment options may be available. As with any pet, you should talk to your veterinarian regularly about the best ways to keep your furry friend healthy and happy.
Boo is waiting for you! She is spayed, litterbox trained, current on vaccinations, and microchipped. Her adoption comes with many benefits, including 30 days of opt-in pet health insurance through Trupanion. Because she’s our Pet of the Week, her adoption fee has been reduced, though a pet license fee may still apply. Learn about all the benefits that come with a pet license at kingcounty.gov/LicenseMyPet.
